CALLING DIGITAL ARTISTS FROM AFRICA

If you’ve been observing the NFT space, you’ll notice a trend — the trend of collectibles. Various collectible projects are springing up here and there, most without utility, and a few with utility.

We’ve had different popular collectible projects in the NFT space like;

  1. Crypto Punks
  2. Bored Ape Yatch
  3. World Of Women NFTs
  4. Lonely Aliens
  5. Pudgy Penguins
  6. Avastars

And lots more. We’ve seen collectibles of Items, animals, and various inanimate and animate objects.

However, there has never been an African Centric collectible project and by that we mean;

a collectible that represents, accentuates or mirrors the aesthetic appreciation of Africa’s people, culture or fashions.

And to that effect, QLIP is launching the first African centric collectible project —

Collection Origin

The BENINGIN collection has origins created across 5 Region of Africa;

  1. West Africa
  2. North Africa
  3. Southern Africa
  4. East Africa
  5. Central Africa

Below are the rarity levels per African region

BENINGIN RARITY AND REGION ORIGIN DISTRIBUTION

Yeah yeah, we know, West Africa has 5 times every other region, it’s because West Africa has more individual and uncommon tribes than the other regions. Here’s what we mean, most of the tribes that exist in other regions are duplicate, tribes that exist in East Africa also exists in some parts of central and northern Africa.

But most tribes that exist in Western Africa, only exist in western Africa, an example is the Urhobo Tribe in Southern Nigeria, they only exist in southern Nigeria you won’t find them anywhere else in Africa.

Also because 90% of the QLIP team and GIN Artists are from Western Africa (so it just makes sense to have more representation).

We also made sure that we tried to cover the minor and major tribes in Africa.

Hers’s how we distributed the tribes according to regions, let’s take Eastern Africa for an example.

EAST AFRICA RARITY LEVELS AND RGION DISTRIBUTION

Notice we tried to cover most of the regions in East Africa and some of the major and minor tribes.

However, we’d like to get feedback from the community before we release the 2nd generation of The Beningin Collectibles, where we’d include more African tribes and regions.

UTILITY FOR THE BENINGIN COLLECTIBLES

We talked about how most collectibles don’t have any utility, and we thought to do something different with THE BENINGIN COLLECTIBLES, here are some of the utility functions to GINs.

Characters in the BENINGIN SERIES GAME

GINs are characters in the BENINGIN SERIES Play2Earn Game which exists on the QLIP Genesis Gaming platform.

Collateral on QLIP’s DEFI platform

If you’ve looked at our roadmap, you’d notice QLIP will have DeFi interactions and a platform that enables users to deposit their NFT as collateral for loans in $QLP Tokens and BUSD.

CALLING ON AFRICAN DIGITAL ARTS CREATIVES

It makes sense to have only African Artists as a part of the project, so we’re asking you to reach out to us to be a part of this project.

Apart from the fun and experience, you’d gain in collaborating with other artists, we also have incentives in $QLP tokens and a Legendary GIN collectible.
